Microsoft Case Study: Now Optics ERP Migration to Dynamics 365 Finance & SCM
Now Optics and Avantiico’s ERP integration fuels expansion and modernizes eye care in 18 months with Microsoft Dynamics 365

Scaling Eye Care Innovation with a Unified ERP
Microsoft has published a new customer success story spotlighting Now Optics’ digital transformation with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.
As a national leader in hybrid eye care and telehealth exams, Now Optics needed a modern ERP platform to support its aggressive growth trajectory. In 2024 alone, the company opened 30 new stores, with 40 more planned in 2025. Legacy systems—built up over time across finance, inventory, and point-of-sale—were no longer sustainable for the scale or speed the business required.
Rapid Finance Modernization with Multi-Entity Functionality
The first phase of the project focused on modernizing finance operations, including payroll and expense management. The team used the Advanced Multi-Company Solution for Dynamics 365 to accelerate data migration and streamline multi-entity accounting. The full finance modernization was completed in just six months.
As the program expanded, Now Optics adopted Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management to manage warehouse operations and inventory tracking across hundreds of stores, and Power BI to support real-time decision-making. Microsoft Fabric was integrated to unify reporting from various systems into a single data estate.
“We wanted a platform that would help the company grow and not look backward.”
— Lakshmi Balusu, Chief Information Officer, Now Optics
Systemwide Rollout and Tangible Results
The unified ERP is now live across Now Optics’ 300+ store locations and its central distribution center. Automation is improving operational efficiency, reducing overhead, and enhancing the employee experience with single sign-on and streamlined workflows.
- Finance operations modernized in 6 months
- 300+ retail and franchise locations onboarded
- Ffully automated invoice and vendor payment workflows
“We’re going to be able to remove ourselves from the day-to-day insight building and focus on using that information to develop strategy.”
— Nicole Lord, VP of Merchandising, Now Optics
Built for Scale and Future Innovation
With a modern Microsoft cloud foundation—including Dynamics 365, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure—Now Optics is now exploring Microsoft 365 Copilot to further enhance productivity and long-term planning. The ERP system not only supports current growth but positions the company to continue redefining the eye care experience through innovation.
